THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE 2012 PROGRAM HAS NOW PASSED. BUT THERE WILL BE A 2013 PROGRAM: www.math.berkeley.edu/~gardiner/rtg2013.html
Welcome! The UC Berkeley Geometry, Topology, and Operator Algebras RTG Summer Research Program for Undergraduates is a unique 8 week program for up to 12 undergraduates to explore cutting edge mathematics and get involved with active research projects. Participating students will complete an intensive four week course on either contact and symplectic geometry or homological algebra and then investigate open-ended problems in these fields in small groups.
The dates of the 2012 program will be June 17th - August 11th. In their free time, students will have the opportunity to explore Berkeley, San Francisco, and the wonderful Bay Area. There will also be weekly outings, lunches, and casual sporting events organized by the program directors. Participants will have their choice of either a $3000 stipend or a $1000 stipend plus room and board. A stipend for travel is available.
The program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation RTG (Research Training Group) in Geometry, Topology, and Operator Algebras, and funding is only available for US citizens and permanent residents. For more information, please see the appropriate subpage. Please do not hesitate to contact the program director with any questions.
